Hillary Duff engagement ring: $1 Million
The following may not necessarily be considered a high profile engagement, but the ring was certainly high profile. Hilary Duff gained a measure of celebrity status when she starred in Lizzie McGuire is in the early 2000s on the Disney Channel. She has also appeared in a number of movies as well. Her husband was a player for the Pittsburgh Penguins but he retired after 13 seasons due to multiple hip injuries.
When he proposed to Duff, he did so in style. He presented her with a 14-carat diamond ring worth $1 million. He was 30 years old at the time and she was 23. It seemed as if things were going along quite nicely and they even had a child together, but unfortunately, they divorced. There have been speculations as to why that may have taken place, but it may just be a matter of them growing apart over time.
