This is perhaps the most irritating question of all. Your life together should be free from all of these racial stereotypes. Furthermore, the goals that you share with each other should not be anyone else’s business in the first place.
In closing, there is nothing more stressful than dealing with racial stereotypes, especially when it comes to the way that people perceive you and your spouse. You should never feel like you owe anyone an explanation for falling in love with someone, yet you are faced with friends and even family that all seem to have an issue with your relationship. It is unfortunate that people cannot learn to love other people, as opposed to feeling like they can only love someone that fits into their tiny little box. Hopefully, these stereotypes will dissipate over time. Until then, it is unlikely that things will ever change on a grand scale. One thing is certain; it is simply unacceptable for anyone to ask these questions, or any others that imply the same thing, for that matter.
